JOS BUTTLER was confirmed as England's white-ball captain. He is confident that he can continue Eoin Morgan's success.
The 31-year old was long-term vice captain and has led England in nine one day internationals and five Twenty20 matches.
Jos Buttler hopes to continue Eoin's legacy
Eoin Morgan announced his retirement from Lord's Cricket Ground
He is undoubtedly England's best limited-overs player.
Buttler stated that "Eoin was an inspiring leader and there are many things I have learned from him."
"He has left English white-ball cricket at a very exciting point and I am inspired for the challenges ahead.
"It's an honor to be the captain of your country. I can't wait for this team to move forward."
Ben Stokes, Test skipper, said: "Jos is the obvious choice. He'll continue to the ethos that Morgs brought us.
"He is a great leader and role model for the guys who join the team through the way he plays and trains."
Morgan, who was captain for seven-and a half years after his retirement, is replaced by Buttler.
Morgan, age 35, resigned as England's most prolific run scorer and most captained player in white-ball formats.
He is also the only person to have led the side to an ODI World Cup victory.
After struggling during England's recent visit to the Netherlands, he decided to resign.
Morgan failed to score runs twice and consulted Matthew Mott, an ex-player and white-ball coach to assist him in making the right decision.
In July, England will play six ODIs in India and six T20s in South Africa.
