Ashes viewers are in stitches when Australian TV reporter climbs on nearby ROOF and interviews cheeky England fan

AN AUSTRALIAN TV reporter had fans in stitches after they were spotted SAT ON A ROOF of a nearby house interviewing a cheeky England fan.

Day two of the third Ashes test got underway but the morning belonged to Australia.

Fans have been watching the action from a nearby rooftop

An Aussie TV reporter went viral after they scaled the roof to interview a fan

Pat Cummins dismissed Joe Root with the second ball of the day before Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali and Chris Woakes also departed.

That left England with an almighty task as they trailed by 121 with just three wickets remaining going into lunch.

However, despite the mood dampening performance from our boys at Headingley, those watching at home on Sky could not help but laugh at the scenes on a nearby house’s roof.

Three spectators were spotted on Thursday perched on top of a house neighbouring the ground to get a free view of the action.

However, the boisterous Barmy Army and their singing was not enough to keep one of those cheeky fans entertained.

Footage from Sky Sports’ coverage yesterday panned to one of the young men who had fallen asleep with his legs precariously hanging down the valley of the roof and his arms outstretched.

Fortunately they remained unscathed – but they soon found themselves going viral on Twitter as fans Down Under especially loved it.

The antics of the rooftop viewers certainly captured the imagination of the Aussie audience.

And that led to one news anchor climbing up onto a roof to interview a young England fan that was sitting there watching this morning.

After the clip was aired, fans quickly took to Twitter to poke fun at the reporter.

One shared a screengrab of the scenes and wrote: “The microphone wires are killing me.”

Another tweeted: “How do boys start being friends with each other??? You can both just sit on a roof and start chatting tbh.”

A fellow fan commented: “Lol good on the reporter for getting on the roof to do this interview at the cricket.”

While another joked: “The Ashes going so well the Aussie reporter is across the road from the stadium up on the roof chatting to the neighbours.”
