LIZ Hurley's teenage boy Damian said that his heart was broken over Shane Warne’s death.

The ex-fiance of his mother was a "father figure" for the 19-year old.

Despite their split in 2013, the couple maintained a close friendship. Liz is also paying tribute today to him.

Damian posted on Instagram: "I'm still trying...

"SW was a father figure for me during most of my formative year and was truly one of the greatest men I've ever known."

"My heart is broken. Sending love and thoughts to all SW family members.

Yesterday, Shane died from a suspected heart attack in a luxury villa located in Thailand.

Liz, who was in a three-year relationship with 52-year-old cricket legend Ian Botham, paid tribute to her "Lionheart", ex-fiance.

She stated, "I feel as if the sun has disappeared behind a cloud for good." My beloved Lionheart, RIP."

As Liz broke her silence today on Instagram, Liz shared seven sweet snaps with the cricketer.

After being photographed kissing outside of a London hotel, the couple made their relationship public in 2010.

Warne and Warne later moved into their Brighton home, where they announced their engagement.

They split in 2013, and the cricket ace revealed that the spark had "fizzled".

He described feeling "quite sad" that the show was over and expressed deep concern for the actress.

Warne said, "I didn’t introduce her to mine until it was actual and I believed it had an future. It wasn’t just a fun little thing."

He said that he was "more in love...than I thought I could be" when he reflected on their relationship.

"I miss the love that we shared. He said that Elizabeth was the most happy years of his life.
