In his final public appearance, Shane Warne was a pundit for T20 cricket before his shock death at 52

AUSTRALIAN cricket legend Shane Warne has tragically died at 52 years old after suffering a suspected heart attack.

Two weeks before his death, he was on punditry duty at Australia's T20 international against Sri Lanka.

Two weeks after his last TV appearance, Warne died from a suspected heart attack.

The team that covered Sri Lanka's visit to Australia for Aussie TV Network FOX Cricket included the second-leading Test wicket-taker.

He was in charge of the toss at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between Dasun Shanka and Aaron Finch on February 18.

Just two weeks after completing his media duties at Melbourne Warne, he tragically died in sudden circumstances.

Warne worked as a pundit for Sky Sports in the UK.

After two years of playing, he retired from the game in 2009. He signed his first contract with the channel in 2009.

Warne's management issued a short statement on Saturday morning (AEDT) announcing that he died in Thailand from a suspected heart attack.

The sign read, "Shane was found unresponsive at his villa and despite all efforts by medical staff, he couldn't be revived."

"The family asks for privacy at this moment and will provide additional details when necessary."

He died hours after tweeting his sadness at Rod Marsh's death. Marsh, a cricket legend, had suffered a heart attack at age 74.
