FREDDIE FLINTOFF reduced Josh Hull’s mum to tears with an incredible speech before fans hailed him as a “national treasure.”
England cricket legend Flintoff, 46, is now his country’s batting coach after a glittering playing career.

And he was present at the Oval after Hull, 20, made his debut against Sri Lanka in the final Test.
In a special ceremony, Flintoff presented Hull with his cap after the fast-bowler became the 716th cricket player to play for England.
But the fan favourite ended up reducing Hull’s mother to tears as he delivered a passionate speech.
Flintoff declared: “I’ve got the incredible opportunity to present a Test cap today and it’s something I definitely do not take lightly.
“It’s so nice to see that the family are here to share that as well because being a parent myself I understand what you go through driving him everywhere, taking him places.
“But also the nerves of watching your kids play and hopefully you will have a great week this week watching your son play for England.
“This cap represents so many things. Firstly, Test cricket, you are going to play a game like no other.
“It’s so much better, so much more fun, it tests your ability, it tests your character, your personality.

“What we’ve seen so far those are things you’ve got in abundance. Watching you bowl in the nets, seeing Jimmy’s excitement, was incredible.
“Watching you around the group every morning, sat there with this massive grin on your face is so nice to see.

“The other thing about this group which is why it’s so special, what a time to come to a Test.
“Everyone is willing you to succeed, do well and the challenges they will stand right next to you.
“And then the successes these lads will celebrate with you. You’re about to enter this world of wonder and I am so excited for you Josh.”
Fans were delighted with Flintoff’s words, with many praising him on social media.
One said: “National treasure is Freddie.”
Another declared: “Was not ready for that! How good is Freddie?!”
One added: “Genuinely made me incredibly emotional. What a man.”
Flintoff played in 79 tests for England, as well as 141 ODIs.
His last appearance for his nation came in 2009.
Flintoff’s coaching career with England arrived after he suffered a horror car crash while filming an episode of Top Gear in December 2022.
The iconic Ashes hero was left with facial injuries and broken ribs but returned to cricket with England a year ago.
And Flintoff also took time to reflect on his own career.
He added: “Every time you wear this cap you will feel pride, you will feel unstoppable, it’s got this funny thing it does to you, it’s like when Clark Kent comes out as Superman.
“When you get older you look back at this and think these are the best times of my life. You’re entering that journey Josh, enjoy it, have the time of your life and showcase everything you’re about.”
