WAITE GOES ON

Brathwaite holds England back as West Indies fight to Barbados draw

"I am a huge England fan. "I just want to see us succeed."

"So I'll continue doing all I can to make our team as great as possible, even if it means I have to step down in the future, I'll still do my best to help this team and try to make them the best in the world.

"This will never change. This passion to make England the best it can be will never cease, no matter what role I play in this team.

"I hope that I have the opportunity to do so, but it is completely beyond my control. Only thing I can control is to help this team win the series.

Two bore draws in Antigua on pudding pitches have resulted in a conclusion at Queens Park Stadium. The Windies have never won any of their three previous Tests including defeat to England in 2015.

Root and Co have made one change: Craig Overton has been replaced by Matt Fisher. Robinson was unable to finish the last training session.

Root stated that Ollie was not as good as we would like or he was expecting too much.

It's frustrating for him just as much as it is for us. Although he is working hard, there is something that is nagging at him. The medical prognosis is not clear to me.

St George's seemed to have a more green-tinged strip than the previous two matches, which increased hopes for a result wicket.

England must prove they are capable of winning despite only one win in 16 Test matches - the match against India at Headingley last summer.

Root acknowledged that Root was right: "A side that forgets how to win is the only thing you will ever want."

"If we continue to play the same way and keep putting ourselves in positions similar to those in the previous two Tests, then we will win games again."

"I hope that we can make another leap forward as a group and cross the line, because there has been so much good stuff here.

"The best thing about every game is that we haven't had that terrible session that cost us the Test.

"We have looked at every hour and each session, and we want to win them all.

"It hasn't always been exactly the same, but I believe that mentality has really served us well up until now."
