SHANE Warne's ex-girlfriend Emily Scott, a model, has shared a photo of the once-loved-up couple and paid tribute to her "best friends".

At 52 years old, the Australian sporting legend died suddenly from a heart attack while on a holiday in Koh Samui (Thailand) last Friday.

After meeting Shane at an event hosted by the Shane Warne Foundation, Emily, a Playboy model, began a relationship with him for four months.

After Liz Hurley, the cricketer, ended their engagement, the couple began to fall in love.

Andrew Neophitou (his business manager) found Shane unconscious in his bedroom last Friday, at 5pm. He declared him dead at 7pm.

Warne's body was transported by ambulance to Australia, where a state funeral will be held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Emily, his ex-wife, has said that she doesn't feel the loss as much because she will treasure "numerous" memories of them together.

Emily Scott wrote in a heartbreaking post: "You were both my friend and confidante." We'd play.

"You were the best. You were so sweet with your children.

"The loss is too great. I will always cherish the gifts of your light and many memories.

Shane posted on Twitter that their split was "Sad Day as Emily Scott and My Separation".

"We will always be great friends and will continue to support one another."

This is after Liz Hurley supported Shane Warne and his daughters in the wake of his sudden death.

The 56-year old actress was engaged to Shane over their three-year relationship. She shared a touching tribute for Brooke, 24 and Summer, 20 - reminding them that their Daddy loved them.

Alongside a few throwbacks of her with the girls, Liz wrote: "I dedicate this #internationalwomensday to two brave, beautiful women @brookewarne and @summerwarne . You are both my best friend and I cherish the most wonderful times we shared together.

Summer, a grieving woman, shared photos from various stages of her father's life earlier this week.

She wrote, "There are no words. It's like I'm in a dream, waiting for someone else to wake me up and say that it's okay. This cannot be real life.

After Shane's death from natural causes at a luxury villa, Thailand, Liz gave tribute to Shane last week.

She stated, "I feel as if the sun has disappeared behind a cloud for good." My beloved Lionheart, RIP."

After being photographed kissing outside of a London hotel, the couple made their relationship public in 2010.

Shane and her Brighton home were moved in, and they announced their engagement later.

They split in 2013, and the cricket ace revealed that the spark had "fizzled".
