JONNY BAIRSTOW and Moeen Ali have been dumped from England’s white-ball squads – signalling the end of their international careers.
Instead, England have chosen an array of new and uncapped players to take on the Aussies next month.

Bairstow, 34, has already been excluded from the Test team and now his worst fears are confirmed with white-ball wilderness.
Moeen, 37, also played in the T20 World Cup in June but now knows he won’t be chosen again.
Warwickshire all-rounders Jacob Bethell, 20, and Dan Mousley, 23, are included for the first time after impressing in the Hundred. Bethell is in both squads while Mousley will play in the T20s.
Batsman Jordan Cox and fast bowlers Josh Hull and John Turner are all uncapped but have been chosen in squads before.
Cox and Hull are in England’s party for the final two Tests against Sri Lanka.
Joe Root, England’s most prolific 50-over batsman of all time, was a shock omission but England insist he is only being rested.
The summer’s Test sensation Jamie Smith gets his chance in the one-day squad and could play as a specialist batsman if captain Jos Buttler decides he wants to continue keeping wicket.
Pace ace Brydon Carse is back in the party following a betting ban
The 50-over matches against the Aussies are the start of England’s build-up towards their next global event – the Champions Trophy, which begins in Pakistan in February.
Carse was charged with placing more than 300 bets on cricket matches between 2017 and 2019.
They were not matches in which he played and Carse accepted the charges and cooperated with anti-corruption officials.
His three-month ban ends on Wednesday.
The first T20 against Australia is in Southampton on September 11 – the day after the Third Test against Sri Lanka at the Oval is due to finish. There are three T20s and five ODIs.
Following the sacking of Matthew Mott, Marcus Trescothick is England’s caretaker coach and has a close relationship with Buttler, who avoided the axe despite two poor World Cup campaigns on the trot.
Trescothick has not ruled out taking the job permanently and he will be the strong favourite if England perform well.
