ENGLAND are reportedly set to play in front of a half-empty crowd on day four of their second Test against Sri Lanka.

England won the first Test by five wickets in a thrilling battle at Old Trafford.

And they now welcome Sri Lanka to Lord’s for the second cricket battle.

The action starts today, with a bumper crowd expected.

But the Telegraph claims England have struggled to move tickets this weekend.

On Sunday, which is day four, only 7,000 seats have been snapped up.

That’s despite Lord’s having a capacity of 31,180.

Day five has also failed to move tickets, with fans wary the second Test could be over by then.

But even the first three days are yet to sell out.

Indeed, it’s reckoned there are around 6,000 tickets left for the opening days of action.

And England cricketers will be hoping that fans will eventually snap up any remaining tickets before cheering them on from the stands.

The lack of public support before the second Test has even started will come as a worry.

There is still a third Test to be played at the Oval next month.

But fans are sure to flock to the upcoming T20 and ODIs against Australia in September.
